Cornwall

Well known as a holiday destination. Before the coming of cheap air travel and package holidays it was THE place for family holidays. A whole generation of children were brought to Cornwall by their parents in the 50's and 60's, many have not been back since.

They remember the sun, the sea, the sand, the crowded beaches and being stuck in jams at Honiton on the day long journey down.

But some things change.

The Cornish people are still as friendly and welcoming.

The picturesque fishing villages are still as quaint.

The rugged moors and cliff tops are still as breathtaking.

The high hedged flower filled lanes are still as winding.

However journey times have changed. Cornwall is now linked to the motorway system by dual carriageway. The drive from London and the home counties now takes four or five hours.

There is an area which was generally overlooked in the past and is much less crowded.
North Cornwall retains a strong rural character, remaining largely unspoilt. Sandwiched between the rugged beauty of Bodmin Moor and the dramatic majesty of the coast lies a diverse landscape supporting an abundant flora and fauna. Lanes of wild flowers, old churches, crosses and holy wells, ancient castles, stone circles and quiet beaches
